Joel Prieto is a regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions where he also received prizes for best male singer and zarzuela performance. The Spanish-born tenor was raised in Puerto Rico and made his studies at Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He has also won first prize in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition in 2008.
